In preparation for the upcoming school year, MIT International School held its Parents and Guardians Orientation last July 30 at the Multi-Purpose Hall. New and returning parents and guardians were acquainted with the existing school policies on academics and discipline as well as programs on student activities and Creative Social Outreach (CSO). This special event is just the first of the many exciting activities in store for the school’s tenth year anniversary with the theme, “Tenacious at 10.”
The School Development Officer, Mr. Boyinggi Yu, School Principal, Ms. Mae Kathryn C. Malanum, other school officials and teachers graced the event. Mr. Yu thanked the parents and guardians who remained faithful to the school’s vision and mission despite the challenges it faced last year. Also, he warmly welcomed the new members of the community to the growing MITIS family and promised the MITIS success to their children and wards. Ms. Malanum, on the other hand, summarized this year’s thrust to three A’s: Adaptability, Academics, and Aspirations. “With tenacity and faith, let us boldly go where no one has gone before,” Ms. Malanum shared.
The success of the orientation program seals the school’s commitment to get the involvement of parents and guardians as partners for the holistic development of MITIS learners.
