MITISzens took “A Step Closer to the Future” as they celebrated Career Week 2017 from September 18-22 through several activities.
While high school students attended career talks facilitated by Ms. Nica de Asis, the school’s guidance counselor, the grade school students participated in Career Runway, where they came in costume to represent how they see themselves in the future. Russel Holt, an aspiring lawyer from Grade 4 and Aubrey Lok Lum Yue, an aspiring chef, from Grade 3 won the “Career Star” awards at the end of the culminating event.
Another interesting activity this year was the “Design Your Door” contest where all classes decorated their classroom doors to represent a career of their choice. Winners will be announced next week.
At the end of the week, Ms. Nicole reminded the parents that adults play a crucial role in shaping the dreams of their children and it helping them make it come true.
