Last May 11, 2018, the Student Coordinating Board led MITISzens in honoring the school’s teaching and support staff as part of the weeklong celebration of Teacher Appreciation Week.
The teachers and staff were treated to a surprise program where selected students gave performances as a sign of gratitude for all the hard work the teachers have done throughout the school year. Students also wrote snippets of what the future could look like for each teacher had they not become educators. Such stories ranged from the personnel becoming famous models, successful entrepreneurs, and significant others of their favorite celebrities. To end the simple gathering, students handed out individual awards, which they handpicked themseleves, to their teachers.
