A Salute to Batch 2016

MIT International School celebrated its 8th Commencement Exercises with the theme “Revisiting Roots, Reinventing Fruits” last May 24, 2016 at The Acacia Manila Hotel.

The whole MITIS community gathered together to celebrate the achievements of its 27 graduates from Grade 6 and Grade 12.

Prince Roilan Benico, the Grade 6 Salutatorian, set the tone early with his welcome message, where he expressed the value of graduation as a means to celebrate their accomplishments.

Kim Jaehong, the Grade 12 class Valedictorian, shared his story of how he turned his high school life around from Grade 9.  He mentioned that each big step he made in his academics was accomplished by making sure he took small steps.  He said, “the more I tried to improve myself, the more I realized that I have many more weaknesses.” This was to inspire his friends to face their fears and to jump into the unknown because only then can success be found.

Next, Choi Eunjae (Joen), the Grade 6 Valedictorian, expressed gratitude to the MITIS community for lovingly guiding each and every student toward the attainment of their goals.

This year’s STRIPES Awardee and Grade 12’s class Salutatorian, Park, Jusung (Simon), led the class in reciting the Pledge of Loyalty. The STRIPES Award is the highest award that a senior student can get. This is a symbol of being exemplary, smart and good student of MIT International School.

Ms. Gina Urquia, DepEd Supervisor for Private Schools and Special Education graced the occasion as Key Note Speaker. She reminded the graduates about the value of “The 5 Ps,” which she enumerated to be: Plan. Prepare. Persevere. Parents. Pray.

To all the graduates, congratulations!
